2005 is an interactive piece created in November, 2012. It consists of various artifacts and aromas, housed in jars and exhibited on a repurposed anthropological museum exhibit.
Smells are powerful. They have an amazing connection to our memories, the mere scent of something familiar sending us down the rabbit hole of the past.I was interested in exploring the smells I encountered during the year 2005.
Some of the other smells were Camel Turkish Silver cigarette butts, Aqua Di Gio (an ex-boyfriend's cologne), Take 5 candy bars and Smirnoff vodka.
Each jar was numbered and corresponded to a list of scent titles; written similar to perfume titles but hinting towards the story for which they are significant.
