Microscope Slides of Paint Pigment samples, Embroidery hoop, Re-cycled curtains and material scraps, Thread
Last year I started to collect slides of my paint. I documented my experiences with painting like a detective on the scene of a crime.
In spring of 2013, I displayed the evidence of my painting instead of the thing itself. I documented eye witness accounts, collected slides of my paint, and bagged, paint soiled rags in evidence bags.
I was particularly intrigued with the experience of looking through the microscope at the paint slides. I decided to blow these up, painting in a sculptural medium by using embroidery as a baseline.
Since 2013 the original painting these slides were taken from has since vanished. It was last scene in a basement of my friend's house which she moved out of. Unintentional as is was, this evidence is all that remains of the painting. It was titled, 'You are the only person I have held hands and peed with'
